Classmate is a student collaboration app designed to help students study together, form study groups, share knowledge, and stay accountable throughout the semester.

The goal of the identity redesign was to create a brand that felt modern, social, student-friendly, and digital-first, while still communicating focus, structure, and academic purpose.

The goal of the identity redesign was to create a brand that felt modern, social, student-friendly, and digital-first, while still communicating focus, structure, and academic purpose.

Approach

The redesign started by identifying a gap in how student-focused platforms are often presented.

Some feel too institutional, relying on predictable academic symbols like books, graduation caps, and school-style visuals.

The identity was built around the idea “Study better, together.” This guided the logo, typography, color palette, and overall visual direction.

The logo mark combines a bold “C” with a curved green form beneath it, creating a symbol that can be read as a student, a study partner, a shared table, or a collaborative learning space.

The mark avoids obvious education clichés, making the brand feel more like a modern digital product.
